Breeding

Breeding is something we do not approach carelessly. A dog is bred only after it has proven itself to be a canidate to contribute to the betterment of the Havanese breed. It must prove itself in the show ring, as a well tempered companion and through health screening. Mates are carefully chosen based on their strengths.and weaknesses in hopes that the offspring will reflect the strengths of both parents.
In every litter there are show dogs and those who just don't quite fit the bill. This does not mean that these puppies are less healthy or beautiful than any other, they simple don't meet all of the criteria for being show dog. It's not unusual for those puppies who do meet the criteria for show and do obtain their championship to still be less suitable for breeding. These dogs, puppies or adults are carefully placed as pets in loving homes where they will be a part of a family in every aspect that our dogs are.
